From Grouting to Golfing
On Friday August 23rd, the Welch Tile team gathered on a day so beautiful it almost looked artificial for our annual “good walk, spoiled”. Our annual golf outing was hosted by The Falls at Barber Creek. We were all excited for a day that is always full of wins, misses, and chuckles! Gathered in front of the golf carts, we had a quick lunch, a nice chat, and started off on our afternoon.
The first item on the agenda was an old favorite, the “Hit the Boat” contest. Each guest got three chances to hit a boat about 100 yards out in the middle of the pond with a golf ball. Many stepped up to the green, but only one hit the boat: the brother of one of our installers, Ryan.

We then gathered for the usual company photograph and were sent off for nine holes of golf. We also set up our usual contests at different holes: longest drive (men’s- hole 4, women’s- hole 3), closest to the pin (men’s- hole 7, women’s- hole 5), and longest putt (men’s- hole 6, women’s- hole 1).
At the end of the day, we all met under the pavilion for an early dinner and the presentation of awards. Congratulations to all of our winners:
Longest Drive- Torrey C. and Kristan H.
Closest to the Pin- Tom (guest of Steve S.) and Kristi N.
Longest Putt- Ryan (guest of Torrey C.) and Lindsey N.
1st Place- Jason H., Breanna H., Dustyn C., brother Ryan
Last Place- Brandon P., guest Trent, Calvin I., and guest Crystal
