Giddy, Grouting Ghosts Come Out to Socialize
Welch Tile’s annual company picnic took place this past Saturday October 20th. This is one of the main events where we encourage our employees to bring their whole family for a day of fun at our Kent City location.
This year, we had events for both the adults and kids. The weather wasn’t particularly cooperative this year, so we took shelter inside. In our warehouse, we set up a bean bag toss for the adults.
For the young (and young at heart) attendees, we had a special spooky craft: make your own slime! It was messy and we did make rubber a couple of times, but once we got the mix right, some awesome slime was made.
We decided to continue on the Halloween theme with a treasure hunt through our “haunted tile shop”. There were little ghosts hidden all over the shop and each one had a clue as to where the next one was. Though it was originally intended for the kids, the adults took part in it too! We then had prizes for the kids to pick out as a reward for participating.
The day finished with a lunch made by two of our installers and drawings for prizes. We also announced the winner of our art contest! The prompt was to create any work of art that involved tile in some way. Our winner received a set of art supplies, including an easel and a set of gouache paints, perfect for a student to further their artistic skills!
Thank you to everyone who helped put this day together!
